Partnership Announcement

After 2.5 years of steady, behind-the-scenes work, we’re honored to share that the Waco City Council voted Tuesday night to approve a $630,000 grant for the construction of Lovely Village Residences—our rent-free housing program for women and their children healing from sexual trauma and exploitation.

We originally applied for $500,000 to cover the construction costs. The city increased its investment to $630,000 to help with cost increases and exterior upgrades. That kind of commitment says everything!

This is more than a grant. It’s a turning point.

In 1917, the City of Waco forced women in the commercial sex industry out of city limits. Their lives were stigmatized, erased. Now, 108 years later, Waco is helping build a place where women exiting that same industry can have their hope awakened.

It’s a redemptive moment—one that speaks to what’s possible when a city chooses to stand with the vulnerable.

To the City of Waco: thank you for seeing these women. For investing in healing, dignity, and safe housing. For making it clear that Waco is a city to believe in.

Construction begins soon. We can’t wait to share more.
