LIVE TALKS

A Talk Series Built
on One Question.

What Do I Know To Be True is a speaker series drawing from over 23 years of frontline work with survivors of sex trafficking, sexual trauma, and exploitation and buyers of commercial sex. It's not a seminar. It's not a sensitivity training. It's the truth — delivered straight, with data, story, and a challenge — tailored for the specific audience in the room.

Three audience tracks. One core question. The same truth, spoken in the language your people actually hear.

WHO’S IN THE ROOM?

  • MUCH GIVEN : MUCH REQUIRED

For athletes and sports teams. A direct, no-lecture conversation about porn, demand, identity, biology, and what elite actually looks like when the jersey comes off.

  • IN REAL LIFE (IRL)

For Middle, High School and University students who are being formed by forces nobody is naming. Honest about porn, brain science, consent, and real connection — in a language they actually speak.

  • INTEGRITY PROTECTS OTHERS

For Corporate and Organizational Leadership. A challenge to leaders about culture, demand, accountability, and the gap between organizational values and what actually gets protected.

Truth Changes Everything.

The consumption of porn is directly connected to every day life and many don’t even realize it. It’s not just a harmless moment to disconnect and relax. It is a gateway and highway to exploitation, trauma and trafficking. 45% of high school students say they get their human sexuality education directly from porn sites.

We have a responsibility to change this.

"I Had
No Idea."

The most common response from audiences after this talk.

“Human Sexuality at Baylor is one of the most important classes students can take. With most people receiving only about seven minutes of formal sex education, the depth of discussion in this course, especially through speakers like Brett, addressing the realities of sex work and the widespread consumption of pornography in the U.S., is essential. I’m especially grateful for his approach: he holds the seriousness of these conversations with grace, recognizing the lack of prior education while also challenging students to thoughtfully design and communicate their own sexual ethic. The work of Lovely Village has changed lives, and his impact extends even further by reaching students who are often completely unaware of the depth of darkness happening right around them.”

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

BRETT MILLS

Brett Mills doesn't show up to give a polished talk. He shows up to tell the truth.

As a founder and CEO of Lovely Village — a Waco-based nonprofit serving survivors of sexual exploitation, trauma and trafficking, Brett has spent over two decades in the rooms most people avoid. Backrooms. Courtrooms. Living rooms where everything fell apart.

He built Lovely Village on a simple but demanding idea: that real community, meaningful work, and creative expression can restore what exploitation steals.

His life theme is simple: help others win.

When Brett walks into a team room, a classroom, or a boardroom, he brings the same thing every time…the truth about what's actually happening in the world, what it costs, and what it looks like to be part of the solution.

WHY THIS EXISTS

EVERY TALK IS PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER

Live Talks is a program of Lovely Village — a healing community for survivors of sex trafficking and sexual trauma, rooted in Waco, Texas. Every speaking engagement directly supports the women and children in our programs.

When Brett stands in front of your team, your students, or your organization — he's not just delivering information. He's bringing 25 years of proximity to the people most impacted by the issues he's talking about. The survivors in our community are the reason this conversation matters. Their lives are what's at stake when people don't know the truth.

Booking a talk is a way to invest in prevention, awareness, and the work of restoration — all at once.
