“People Like Me”
“This doesn’t happen to people like me,” she said through tears.
“Oh, but it most certainly does — and today is your day!” we said.
Because of thoughtful, generous donors, we get to meet real needs for the people in our Village.
Takayla has been part of our community for a long time — she’s an ACCESS grad and now serves as our production coordinator. If you’ve ordered a body product in the past six months, it came from her hands and hard work.
Transportation is one of the biggest barriers anyone can face. When it’s unstable, everything else becomes harder.
Takayla needed a reliable car — and thanks to a generous donor, we got to help make it happen.
This moment was pure joy. It’s what awakening hope looks like in real life: a car in her name, with her own insurance, and a mechanical support system through our partners at @Middlemanskateboards. John Bernard and his team are the best — together we’re helping provide auto support for our Neighbors.
As we move toward opening residential housing, transportation needs will only grow. If you want to be part of moments like this, join us. It’s one of the most tangible ways to love your neighbor.
“Next to the Blessed Sacrament itself, your neighbor is the holiest object presented to your senses.”
